I've taken several work sabbaticals across my life, ones ranging from one month to ten months.

    1. It's a great opportunity to clear away the persistent day-to-day anxiety from working.

    2. It can prevent or heal burnout, which is an accumulation of frequent work anxiety.

    3. It can allow you to focus on a creative project with fewer distractions.

    4. You can invest more quality time with family and friends.

    5. You can use the time to be more in nature.

    6. You can explore a long-forgotten passion, such as playing an instrument or writing a novel.

    7. It can serve as a mental and emotional reset on your life, which could open you up to new opportunities that you may not have previously considered.

    8. It can be a reminder that your life's purpose isn't to try and be increasingly productive and optimize every second of the day.

    9. It could open up opportunities for you to give your time to a worthy cause.

    10. It might make you think you should take a longer sabbatical than you originally planned!
