10 Biggest Health hacks to start to feel better immediately

    1. Stop all sodas/carbonated drinks.

Use a substitute as long as necessary. I drank sugar free lemonade for a while to break the addiction and it’s been 5 years since my last soda.

    2. Drink at least 1/2 to 1 gallon of water a day.

Carry a bottle around with you. Most Americans are at least slightly dehydrated chronically. Your body will get rid of what you don’t need, but this will allow it to work optimally.

    3. Get an OURA ring or equivalent.

This will allow you to track sleep, movement, heart rate, readiness, temperature and more. What gets measured improves.

    4. Build muscle mass with two or three weight or resistance workouts a week!

Get some growth hormones in your body. It's literally the fountain of youth. Take some time to recover, and the fact that you doing it is so much more important than "hitting it hard."

You'll be able to handle things better, you'll look and feel better, too.

    5. Perform some sleep hygiene and recover much better!

    1. Set a BEDTIME alarm. This little hinge swings a gigantic door. Do it and get enough sleep!
    2. Wear blue blocker glasses when the sun goes down and get some sweet circadian rhythm in your life.
    3. Kill all the ambient light (like from TVs, alarms, etc) in your room.

    6. Go on sunrise and/or sunset walks.

More of the circadian rhythm goodness. You'll see that you sleep better, and feel better. Your mind will work better after the walk too. It also puts me in a really, really grateful mood. Try this!

    7. Eat a lot less. Smaller portions, not as many meals.

I just read a study that said meals today are literally 4X times bigger than meals in the 1950's!

There's also a lot of talk in the longevity community that this helps living longer.

    8. Fast some.

Your body uses upwards of 70% of its energy digesting food. Give it a break! Use energy for other things like healing your body.

This can also help cause autophagy--which is the process of our bodies getting rid of problem cells, as in cancer cells.

Some researchers say that 90% of all cancer can be cured by a regular fasting regimen! I don't know that it's true, but it makes a lot of sense. It also helps to be metabolically flexible. If you miss a meal or two, or a DAY or two, it doesn't phase you when you're used to this. I started with 1 day noon to noon the next day. Then 48 hours. Breakfast and lunch day one, skip meals day 2, skip breakfast day 3. Then more if it feels right.

NOTE: check with docs on this. I think it's good for most everyone unless you're dangerously thin already or have diabetes. But I'm not a doc and everyone is different.

    9. Take a yearly comprehensive blood test and have the doctors look at it.

This should be practiced by everyone. It can catch deficiencies before they show up as DIS-EASE or sickness. The earlier issues are dealt with, the better.

We're dealing with a health system that's really a sick system. But WE have the power to change that when we're proactive with our health. If you've never done this, go to a local place and for a few hundred bucks they can test seemingly EVERYTHING.

    10. Have a Gratitude/Mindfulness Practice

I've done a lot of research on this one. Gratitude literally helps with blood pressure, heart rate, even things like blood sugar. Yet--we don't often have practices on HOW to get "great at gratitude."

We can change that. It will help us live longer, look at life through new eyes and have a lot more fun along the way!
