10 card games they everyone should know how to play
.Playing cards seems to be a lost art. My parents both taught me many card games but now that everybody has the world in the palm of their hands we are less likely to play actual cards.
1. Blackjack
This is a simple game. There are many cultural references to this game in movies and also certain idioms like hit me and stick, and bust. Sometimes called “21”
2. Go Fish
Fun game for all ages but especially with young children
3. Five card stud
The basis of many poker games.
4. Poker, in general
.Many poker games are similar and the betting sequence and bluffing is a big part of the game. If you know a handful of games you can get together with a few people and play for nickels or peanuts, or the big bucks!
5. Texas Hold ‘Em
. This is what is played in most of the televised poker tournaments. I have recently been hooked on this game. It is an interesting variation of five card stud. You know the cards that everyone has to play.
6. Bridge
I still need to learn this one!
7. Gin
8. Gin Rummy
Similar to gin but you lay your cards out on the table and can play with your opponents cards.
9. Solitaire
There are dozens of variations of solitaire. It is good to know how to play one or two.
10. Hearts or Spades
To be honest I would have to look up how to play these again
