10 foods I want to eat more often
1. Crispy Duck
One of my favourite choices in a Chinese restaurant was crispy duck and pancakes. I loved that. Delicious. We've not really been to any Chinese restaurants of late.
2. Chicken Kebabs in Satay Sauce
This is more about wanting to find somewhere that does Chicken Kebabs as well as a place in London that I used to frequent. The Satay Sauce was just the best. The Chinese near our last house was pretty good. I like the crunch. I've not found a version to match either of them yet.
3. Steak Frites
I don't eat steak very often because I once had steak and chips in Paris that was just sublime. Although I mostly like my steak quite well done, in Paris you eat it blue. And it's epic. I will never forget that meal. It was perfect.
4. Fruit and Yoghurt Compote
We visit a place not far away quite often. Before we moved to Derbyshire, we stayed there on several occasions. In the morning, there was a breakfast buffet and the fruit and yoghurt compote was one of my favourites.
5. Fresh Croissants
Again, after eating croissants in France, it's hard to find the same quality here. I warm croissants in our air fryer and they're pretty good.
6. Cherry Scones
I love cherry scones. Ones that are packed with cherries. Not the scarcely cherry scones that you can get. In Manchester, I used to buy cherry scones from the Jewish bakery. The cherries were whole and plentiful. Some days I would eat one for breakfast, unbuttered, on the way into work.
7. Vanilla Slices
A good vanilla slice has no equal!
8. Chicken Korma
There's a really good Indian restaurant about 15 minutes away. Their food is amazing.
9. Passion Fruit
I like the flavour and the crunch.
10. Toasted Teacake
Because it means I'm sitting in a nice café and drinking latte too!
