10 strangers from my life I remember fondly

Yes, one theme comes up a lot.

    1. Kevin, who picked me up while I was hitchhiking in Ontario and eventually invited me to lunch and then to stay on his farm with some of his family

    2. The couple in Iceland that picked up me and my then-girlfriend and offered us to stay with them in Keflavik on our last night instead of camping out near the airport

    3. That lady in Canada that offered me a ride and then a milkshake when we arrived at destination

    4. That friendly dude who worked at the Burger King internet café thing in Manhattan and told me some of his life story when I was there at age 16

Burger King internet café... Am I recalling this correctly?? Was this a thing?? 2011.

    5. That heartwarming Christian who picked me and my "friend" up in Scotland and let us stay with them for the night

She was horrible to me and we disrespected him and his friend by arguing too loudly at night. God I'm embarrassed thinking about it.

    6. That woman who worked at the reception of the hotel during the Just For Laughs festival (I was volunteering there) who was a total vibe

    7. Soheil, a man of Iranian origin who gave me a ride from Malmö to Stockholm after I waited for hours

    8. That guy with a huge beard that picked up me and my then-girlfriend somewhere in the US and gave us a super long ride

I can't remember where we stopped. We were gonna continue with him after staying at the same motel but we ended up deciding not to. Probably so we could wake up later or something. I very much enjoyed that waffle machine at breakfast. Good times.

    9. Juca, that Portuguese lady who picked us up (same girlfriend again) and lert us stay with her and her family in Luxembourg. She told us we smelled and needed a shower.

    She was lovely.

    10. The French-Québecois couple that picked me up in their RV after I waited for houuuuuuurs in Wawa

They were so good to me. They brought me with them to a camping area so I could put up my hammock. They invited me to lunch. So touching.
