10 things about Dave Navarro

Preview

Probably my favorite guitarist. Even though I don't know anything about music. Love his style and his demeanor.

    1. Best known as the lead guitarist for Jane's Addiction

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane%27s_Addiction#1985%E2%80%931987:_Formation_and_Jane's_Addiction

Probably my favorite band. Closest thing to Led Zeppelin(the best band ever) we'll ever get. Dave was 18 when Jane's got started.

    2. Was the guitarist for Red Hot Chili Peppers - One Hot Minute - album

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Hot_Minute

VERY underrated. I think Dave's guitar playing and RHCP's funky style mesh amazingly well. They only made one album, but I wish they made more music. Which brings me to .....

    3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Circle Of The Noose

Previously unreleased, this song would have come on the album after One Hot Minute. This is not a finished song, especially the vocals, but I love it and think it could have been a great hit for RHCP. However, Dave was kicked out of the band shortly after and would later reunite with Jane's.

    4. Jimi Hendrix was an early inspiration for him

    How good was Jimi!

    5. Guns N' Roses wanted Dave to join the band!

"After the departure of Guns N' Roses' original rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin in August 1991, Navarro was the first choice of lead singer Axl Rose to replace Stradlin; despite four attempts to have him come in and play with Slash, he never showed up."

How cool would this have been?

    6. Played with Alanis Morissette

In 1995, Navarro played guitar for Alanis Morissette's track "You Oughta Know" on one of the 1990s' most successful songs.

    7. Has been married 3 times and is currently engaged

    4th time the charm?

    8. Has battled drug addiction

This may not be a popular take, but I seem to notice that many of the great artists have abused, or at least used, drugs. This must take them to a dark place. Creatively, it may allow them to experience a broad spectrum of emotions. Who knows. But, it appears Dave is not addicted anymore.

    9. He's in great shape

Always has been. Plays often with his shirt off. He's 55 and still looks fantastic.

    10. Has acted and had his own show with Carmen Electra
