10 Things I am Learning from my Daily Tarot Journaling
I have been pulling cards and journaling about it at the beginning of the day and the end of the day. This is what I do.
1. I say in my head ' what will today be like' and pull 3 cards
2. I find the three tarot stickers that match the cards and put them in my journal.
3. I use my own experience an write down what I think it means.
4. I go to the site Tarot Elements and write down what each card means.
5. I go to the site Royal Road for a 2nd interpretation
6. I revamp what I think will happen
7. I come back the next day and write what happened and compare and analyze.
I am trying to see if there is a logical connection. Are things actually happening or am I just making connections because I want to see them?
1. Take My Time
After 2 weeks of doing this it has become a task. I still enjoy the process but I want it to be done sooner. I am rushing it. Rushing it just makes me jot down the surface stuff. I don't go much deeper.
2. Intensity
I don't know the intensity of what the cards area telling me. They say the Major Arcana are bigger life events but that's not always the case for me. I pulled : 4 of Swords, The Tower and 7 of Wands. I put down a day of rest but with struggles. The last two cards worried me because my dad didn't seem like it would be stressful. My sister was heading home from a trip and I just told her to be careful. The Tower card was there. My sisters dog just ended up jumping in a muddy pond twice. I had to spend at least an hour throughout the day hosing him down. ugh. Total struggle bus.
3. Lot of Info
Every card can contain a lot of information. You need to focus on the things that feel right to you. Each card has probably 10 paragraphs of information about them. I read it all and pick out what I think is most relevant to me.
4. People Cards- King, Queen, Knight, Page
I have heard often that the people cards are about other people in your life. However, they have been showing up as me and how I need to adapt to situations.
5. Unexpected Things
The Tower card is actually the "unexpected things" card. When I am doing a reading I don't like to think of it that way. I want to have it tell me something about the situation I am in. It can also mean 'something falling apart'. I pulled the other day: The Sun, The Tower and 2 of Wands. I was quitting my job that day. If it wasn't for the Sun and 2 of Wands I would have freaked out. I felt good that I should quit my job. I didn't know what the Tower meant. I had an unexpected phone call that day aboout something else. It kind of comes together at the end of the day.
6. First Glance
I want to be able to just look at the cards and know immediately what it means. Trust my initial reaction and write it down. I still look at the cards and picture the definitions in my head. I still like the crutch of reading the 'definitions'
7. Sticker Love
I love the stickers. It shows what cards keep coming up for me. I can almost say wow last week was all about leaving my job. This week is all about dating.
8. Bigger Stickers
I want bigger stickers next time. I bought 1 inch stickers thinking they were 2 inches. I want 2 inch stickers next time.
9. Reviewing the Day
I have been able to sum up my day in less than 10 words. It's nice to have that little recap. I feel like days have more meaning.
10. Comfortable
I am feeling more comfortable with the cards. I am understanding more about them. I still freeze when I am giving readings for other people but I am getting better at it.
