10 things I do to create a continuous learning mindset
1. Have books on my desk
Read before and after work
2. Take notes
Learning new things isn't useful unless you remember what it is, and use it
3. Apply what I have learned to my work
4. Schedule the time in for learning
If we 'wait' until we have a free moment, we won't
5. Make learning easy
Learn whichever way you enjoy the most - reading, online videos, audiobooks, etc.
6. Share what you have learned with others
You don't know it until you can teach it
7. Create presentations
A good way to share it with others, but also so you can use and re-use it yourself in different situations
8. Create a mastermind
Setup a group of like-minded individuals to share your learnings
9. Ask questions
Any time I consume anything, I ask myself lots of questions. Does this make sense? Does this conclusion logically follow? What assumptions did the author make?
10. Re-read / re-listen / re-watch
Our memories have a small space so I find I need to re-read before I can actually absorb a book.
