10 things I would include in a book about getting out of your comfort zone

1. Exercises on how to be mildly annoying in public
2. No one cares
3. The fact that it's exhilirating
4. How lucky you are to be alive
5. Comfort will make you miserable
6. Don't do it for something that's not meaningful to you
Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is fun and rewarding when you actually like what you're doing or when it's meaningful to you. I was once asked "Don't you wanna push your limits?" after I said I wasn't interested in crossfit. No, I don't wanna push my limits by doing crossfit. But maybe I can push them doing something else?
7. It gets easier
8. Self-compassion
Get out there but don't be too hard on yourself.
9. Some typical stuff about Stoicism
It's getting cliché at this point.
Reading about Stoicism helped me pluck up the courage to go outside with a sign that said "$1 jokes". For some reason I didn't do it again even though I made decent money (this was in Montreal), until I tried again in Venice Beach and it barely worked at all, which did discourage me a bit. I should have kept trying! My sign looked like crap. I had read about a guy who was making good money like this in NYC. I wasn't very confident with my jokes though, and I felt like I didn't have enough one-liners. Anyway, I digress!
