10 things that I can take “radical responsibility” for
I don't remember where I got the idea of "radical responsibility." No excuses: everything is on me. I have found this to be a helpful mindset. It has also (paradoxically?) given me a sense of calm when things are truly out of my control, knowing that I have done everything that I can think of.
A Radical Responsibility mindset also eliminates any ideas of "fairness" from my perception. See it, do it, own it. It also helps me minimize my own complaining which is something that I am working on.
This also lets me put some side projects to the side without guilt.

1. Results for my team at work
My title is "team lead". Some things are really not my job or my call to make. I do have to remind myself to stay in my lane. Driving projects as much as I can has helped the team make progress and I am much more proactive. I ask myself, "what else can I do to get this project completed?" I have been able to notice things that I can do that may have slipped my mind in the past.
2. My fitness, my mental health
It is up to me to eat well and exercise. Nobody else will do it and it is nobody's problem but mine. Seeking answers and habits for better mental health is also up to me.
3. My sleep
If pets or people interfere I need to do what I can to work around it. Go to bed at a reasonable hour.
4. My old age
Start planning early for health, wealth, living arrangements and legacy.
5. My music creation and practice
This comes and goes but I try to improve every day.
6. Taking care of the dog
Nobody else walks the dog. Not a huge responsibility but by taking "radical responsibility " I don't complain.
7. Washing the dishes
I always wash the dishes. By taking radical responsibility I don't complain that they are not done by someone else: they always get done.
8. My Side Hustles
IF they go, they go. If it does not work, the only one that I can blame is myself.
9. Being on time
This has historically been an issue for me. No blaming traffic or other people. I have been much better and also structured my life where I don't have to be anywhere at a particular time!
10. Correspondence
If I have not heard from someone in a while, it is always my turn to contact them. If there is no contact, it is on me.
