10 things to do if you find yourself procrastinating
Not 10 ways to get back on track but rather, 10 ways to use your procrastinating time more productively
1. Clean up / organize your desk
Digitize random files you need and throw away other papers you don't need. Put away books that you aren't going to read right away.
2. Find an email you haven't responded to in a long time
Respond to it as if no time has passed
3. Think of something nice about a friend or colleague. Email or text them your thought.
4. Clean your home
Clean up your bathroom. Vacuum. Put away the dishes.
5. Grab some water
You're likely not hydrating enough. Get a glass of water.
6. Stretching
Get in some stretching - I like finding stretch videos on Youtube and following those
7. Take a walk
If you're going to procrastinate, you might as well get some activity in.
8. File away emails
You may not be spending enough time archiving emails and they are like clutter on a desk - they pop up every time you open your inbox and so they take up mental space. File them away. Dealt with them already? Delete them or archive it if you need it for your records. Don't need it anymore? Delete it.
9. Log your tasks
A good way to make 'time' stretch longer for you is to log what you did. Also a good idea if you need to track your time at all.
10. Journal
Get your procrastinating thoughts down on paper. Ask yourself why you feel that way. Brainstorm ideas to get yourself out of procrastination mode.
