10 things you probably should get rid of in your life

When you hang out with someone, do you feel energized or drained after? Make time for people that energize you. Avoid people who drain you.

It's nice to have an anti-library, but be realistic, are you going to get around to reading those books? If not, it's time to get rid of them to make room for other books (you aren't going to read).

I think I have about 20 different water bottles - some company swag, some collected from fairs or events, others just given to me. Do you really need that many reusable water bottles? Probably not.

Safe to eat? Eat it. Not safe to eat? Get rid of it so its not taking up physical (or mental) space.

Although I like the idea of inbox zero, I don't think I'll ever get there unless I hit delete on all of my emails. Maybe that's the way though?

You probably have one or more gift cards lying around with money still inside them. Don't throw them away - use them instead.

Some of us have clothing that we have in the back of our closets that we don't want to get rid of. The t-shirt from the bachelorette party. The nice pants gifted to you from your grandma. But again, be realistic, are you going to wear these ever again? Take a picture and donate them to someone who can use them.

I like collecting receipts - feel like its a habit I got from my parents for auditing purposes but there's no real reason to keep the physical receipts around. Scan them or shred them.

This New Year, why not make a resolution to get rid of a bad habit (transform it into a good habit) instead of developing a new habit?
