10 Things You Will Not Tolerate in 2023
1. Stay up past 9 p.m. (with exceptions)
Unless I'm out with friends or there's some other very good reason, I've found staying up past this time really hurts me.
2. Ingesting stimulants
Even when I was in university, I never drank coffee (Although I drank Red Bull and green tea sparingly). Now I rely on it too much. If I can do number #1 on this list, I can do this easily.
3. Not being creative in some way
I did this most days this year, but not every day, so I'm unsure if I garnered the benefits, obviously better than last year, though.
4. Using my phone more than I would like
I do a good job of this, but I remember a time when I had a flip phone and I could get through the whole day without using the notes app, calendar app, or clock app. We still have analog versions of those things that do the job.
5. Not being present
I do okay on this, but I find myself often "time-travelling" as @JamesAltucher has said. Gotta stop this.
6. Avoiding meditation
I probably do it more than the average person, but not everyday, because I always give myself an out to skip it.
7. Eating that junk food
I always make excuses to eat something like this, "Just this once". But as the saying goes (paraphrasing) "Once more was what you said the time before."
8. Watching news before bed
Doesn't help me!
9. Skip shaving
Sometimes I just say, "I'll do it tomorrow, nobody will notice". I never let it go for more than two days, but this is a practice I've gotta stop.
10. Read more than one book at a time
I'm so curious, that I often read more than one book at a time. I just want to learn. I could absorb more information and read more if I just focused on one book at a time.
