10 tired tropes in the self help/hustle book space

Maybe I shouldn't read so many books in this genre...

They are overused because they are good examples and topics worth knowing about, but so many authors use the same examples!

In no particular order:

    1. Earnest Shackleton's story of perseverance on the Endurance

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_Shackleton

A very interesting true life adventure story.

    2. Stanford marshmallow experiment (delayed gratification)

    3. British rowing team: WILL IT MAKE THE BOAT GO FASTER?

    4. Quoting Warren Buffet

    5. Einstein's work ethic

    6. How intensely Lebron James practices basketball

    7. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school varsity basketball team

It was an inspirational moment for him, but he didn't actually get cut. He tried out as a sophomore didn't make it, but after he grew, he played on his varsity team.

    8. The fact that 90% of drivers place themselves in the top 25% of all drivers

    9. Thomas Edison's Naps

    10. Stoicism
