10 tools every homeowner should have
That's the title to a great list by @chris407x. My list is kind of a 2.0 version.

1. Chain saw
You don't want to be trapped at home because a tree fell in an inconvenient spot. If electrical wires are involved though, wait for the electric company.
2. Sawzall
Comes in handy more often that you'd think.
3. Work lights
Occasionally, you have to do stuff at night.
4. Monkey wrench
Talking about the big heavy ones and really I would suggest two, one to hold something in place and the other to turn.
5. Duct tape
Handy for all sorts of things
6. Air compressor
If nothing else, you can fill up a tire. But we've used ours quite a bit.
7. Pry bar
Solves problems that other tools do not.
8. Axe
Basic utility.
9. Sledge hammer
Also a basic utility.
10. Mallet
Sometimes you need to hammer something but a regular hammer would do too much damage.
