    1. Bratislava, Slovakia

For some reason, I loved it there. The only image I had of Bratislava was from the movie Eurotrip, which is to say I knew nothing about it. When I got off the bus, I actually thought "Oh wow, it actually looks like in Eurotrip", but that was just the bus station. It's a lovely city!

    2. Ankara, Turkey

People say it's boring and ugly. If you compare it to Istanbul, sure, it's not as lively. But for me, it was one of the easiest places to meet people, and there are some lovely bars and coffee shops. The chess museum is lame, though.

    3. Yerevan, Armenia

A small city with limited possibilities for nightlife, but enough to have a good time. Wonderful, warm people all around! Get out of the city to see some ancient ruins and see if a random farmer stops his car to offer you grapes.

    4. Nancy, France

A beautiful main square full of gold.

    5. Groningen, Netherlands

Cities of around 200,000 people are my favorite. There's everything you need, you can meet people and have fun, but it's also quiet and cosy.

    6. Ålborg, Denmark

Almost identical observation as above! This city has 211,000 people.

    7. Manchester, United Kingdom

I had heard a lot of great things about Manchester, but at the same time it still had this reputation for being a dangerous and grey, if not ugly city. While I did get mugged (by putting myself in an obviously dangerous situation), I was pleasantly surprised by the city. There's a lot of fun to be had, impressive buildings, and a really nice jazz bar.

    8. Vejle, Denmark

Another Danish city! This one has 113,000 inhabitants. I was only there for a few hours, and I'm guessing it's not worth staying more than a couple of days, but I felt such a peaceful atmosphere. There's one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to, which is also a publishing house: Byens Forlag og Bogcafé

    9. Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan

10 reasons to visit Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan

    10. Liège, Belgium

Often considered an ugly city, Liège is in fact a city with lots of picturesque spots. If you enjoy drinking in bars or partying, you'll likely have a fun time in the neighborhood of "Le Carré", where you'll find it incredibly easy to meet new people.
