10 Ways I Can Get Back In The Saddle
After a hiatus of hitting a wall, taking on too much and treading water it’s time to jump back in to a more intentional schedule and life.
1. Set a regular sleeping schedule
Decide desired number of hours, set in bed, sleep time, and wake up time to reflect that goal. Commit to helpful patterns (no screen time 30 minutes prior to sleep) create a sleep journal in or attached to Notion with place to record any dreams, quality of sleep, reasons for not hitting goals.
2. Calendar self-honoring practices
Make space for the habits that set me up for a good day, week, foundation. Include physical, spiritual, mental/emotional, relational elements. (Ie. Journaling, stretching, reading, writing letter/email to a friend).
3. Re-evaluate goals and projects
Is it still relevant, important, aligning with my future hopes and dreams? Is there a better way? How can i restructure systems, delegate, or automate to move the needle more quickly?
4. Enroll help
Gather those (spouse, close friend, coach) that can come alongside me for support and accountability?
5. Share my intentions
Tell friends, people in my network that I’m getting started again for intention - drawing a line in the sand.
6. Create a don’t do list
what activities, habits have I created that are wasting my time, holding me back or pulling me in a different direction? How can I cut those off at the roots?
7. Take the first step
what is one action step that can move me in the correct direction again?
8. What reminders can i create to keep me in the process?
Recurring items in tasks and calendar, automated reminders
9. Gamify
how can I make it fun, rewarding, addictive? What represents leveling up?
10. Self- talk
how will I change my language and mood to live in the space I desire as the improved me?
