10 ways to organize post college learning

Staying curious and learning is a beneficial part of life.

    1. Keep a list of things you want to learn

    2. As this list grows see if you can find common elements

In order to get to goal D I need to learn A B and C.

    3. Try to come up with “final exams” deliverables for courses/topics

How to build a bookshelf 101 (build the shelf), write a book about medieval dentistry or whatever you are into

    4. Create deadlines for your projects

Projects without deadlines have a tendency to take forever

    5. Spend time creating your personal syllabus

Include due dates and projects to complete

    6. Have an accountability mechanism

Posting to NotePd is a good one for me: I have made daily posts a priority. It is tempting to skip. Do something in public every day.

    7. Use a “second brain” system like obsidian or Notion

    8. How can you gamify your results?

    Give yourself rewards? Maintain streaks?

    9. Publish your knowledge

Produce something for a trade fair, make YouTube videos or Substacks or books or NotePD lists.

    10. Break your interests down so that you can finish a project in a calendar quarter or less

This project can be part of a bigger project, like a section in a book every quarter.

    11. Take a long view and don’t be afraid to course correct
