6 WAYS TO GO FROM DECIDING TO DOING
One of the hardest parts to anything is getting started. The only way to go from Deciding to Doing is by taking Action.
1. IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE PERFECT
Perfectionism can be a sign of procrastination. Some times good is good enough.
2. DO IT ANYWAY - TRY ANYWAY
The ONLY way to go from Deciding to Doing is to actually do it. There's a reason why Nike's slogan is JUST DO IT. By putting "JUST" in front of DO IT, it's suggesting for you to just "TRY."
3. GET PAST THE FEAR
"Courage is fear walking" - quote by psychologist Susan David
Keep telling yourself - what's the worst thing that can happen? What's the BEST thing that can happen?
4. DON'T DO IT ALONE
Find someone who you can meet up with or who is a good sounding board - at the beginning of anything you want to make sure you don't have naysayers or else you won't take the first step.
5. TAKE MICRO STEPS
We tend to get ahead of ourselves. Big picture thinking - which is great IF it doesn't stop you from taking the first step. For example, if you're on NOTEPD and you haven't posted yet - do it. Take the first step. As it say's "3 ideas are all that's needed to post a list!"
6. TYPE YOUR LIST USING BOLD CAPTIONS
It's a mini SHOUT OUT for yourself - There's something about typing in BOLD CAPTIONS that wakes the senses. OR it can be interpreted as YELLING - BUT for the purposes of creating LISTS - SHOUT IT OUT!!!! Sure - and even use a lot of exclamation marks "!!!!!!!!"
