7 Things I like About Reading James Joyce
I came across the Dubliners by James Joyce today. I read it a decade ago.
Reading him is like getting ready for a voyage without knowing the destination. You just pick a gate.
1. The stories
He can turn the mundane into mesmerizing stories.
2. The wordplay
He can paint the most complex scene with words. A true craftsman!
3. The poetry in the prose
To me, his choice of words is poetic. Sentences flow and rhyme like poetry.
You dont know how you will feel as you turn the pages. You think you know what will happen until you don't.
5. The jokes
He is funny.
6. The dialogues
Deep and shallow, you can hear him talking to himself. Fascinating life!
I become more self-aware as I peruse the pages. He makes little tiny details of life shine.
