9 Powerful Life Lessons You can learn From Failure

No matter how many times a kid falls, he never remains on the ground and wonders if he’ll ever walk. He keeps trying & trying until he finally learns to walk.

Most of us have been trained to avoid failures. We’ll do everything we can to avoid the pain & embarrassment that comes with failure.

But each failure carries within it some positive benefits that are hardly learned from success.

Life lessons can be learned from failure by understanding how to handle it.

    1. Failure opens your mind to learning and growth

Every time you fail – you can learn something:

“A finer way to make change.”
“Clues on how to do better”
There’s no such thing as failure, only learning experience. Embrace them.

Growth and development comes from recognizing our failures and knowing what we can do to improve and change.

Failure should be seen as action that just didn’t work out well. You can try again and even better next time. And again and again until you achieve your goal.

    2. Failure teaches you to be nimble and bounce back faster

Jack ma once made a statement - "To be successful - don't just learn from other people's success story - learn from their mistakes." This has a positive effect on your mind - whenever you experience such, your mind is prepared.

Think of David Goggins, in “Can’t Hurt me,” after going through a lot he was able to learn how to callous his mind and see failure as an opportunity to try again.

Yes you can learn how to be patient with your goals from failure but it’s more rewarding to learn how to bounce back faster.

    3. Failure helps you get out of your Comfort zone

If you’re afraid of failing – you may never grow or know the limit of your mind.

Think of climbing Everest, the first flight, exploring Space, breaking a Guinness Record.

This is what happens when you push yourself out of your comfort zone. Yes they practiced with lots of effort; but they were willing to fail.

    4. How To Handle Setbacks

Learning how to handle setbacks means that you will be better equipped to deal with difficult situations in the future.

Failure teaches you why giving up is never the answer by understanding that every failure is an opportunity to learn and grow.

    5. The Importance of Perseverance

You can learn the importance of perseverance from failure; never give up on your dreams and persist through the tough times.

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seems to be no hope at all - Dale Carnegie.

    6. Failure builds Character and allows you see the Big picture

How does failure strengthen a person? You appreciate light more when in darkness. Every time you experience the others side of what you want you have a better perspective of life with what you learn from it.

Sometimes bad things happen to good people and there's nothing you can do about it except pick yourself back up and carry on.

Failure can make you stronger and more resilient – if you let it.

    7. What Not to Do When You Fail

By learning from your mistakes, you can figure out what not to do the next time you fail.

Don't let your failures define you - but let them show you what to do differently next time.

You can learn from your mistakes by taking the time to analyze what went wrong and making sure not to repeat those mistakes in the future.

Failure teaches you "one more thing that doesn't work."

    8. How to Turn Your Failure Into a Success

You can learn how to turn failure into success by understanding what went wrong and using that knowledge to improve your chances of success in the future.

Use your failures as motivation to turn your life around and achieve success.

Sometimes failure is necessary for you to get where you want to go - all the reward goes to the one that doesn't give up and learns all the lessons failure offers.

    9. Failure teaches Humility

First, you don’t need to wait until you fail in life to be humble. “Success can be a very good teacher, however, we do usually learn more from failure because the outcome is unexpected.”

Accepting responsibility for your failures shows that you are humble and willing to learn from your mistakes.

Its arrogant to think you're never going to fail at one point or another or ignore them when happen - the problem is not failure but how we respond to failure.
