9 Ways to Get Involved in the Energy Markets

The Energy Market effects almost every sector of the economy. Here are a few ways that you can get involved.

    1. Stocks

    You can invest in companies that produce, move, refine, etc. the energy created.

    2. Commodities

    Some fossil fuels allow you to purchase contracts to buy or sell the product directly.

    3. Real Estate

    This might be a mine, a gas well, or an office space for the fuel company.

    4. Become a Net-producer

    If are generating excess electric capacity with your home power system (PV, Wind, etc.) you can sell that excess production to "the grid".

    5. Transportation

    Transmission lines for electricity, trucks for oil, or trains for coal are all examples of areas where you can work or invest in.

    6. Become a Public Educator

    Mos Americans have no idea where the electricity is produced that feeds their abode. All they care is that when they flip a switch, something happens. By learning the ins and outs of local and regional energy issues, you can provide a critical link between technical analysis and public conssumers.
