A List Of Other People's Ideas

Introspective list by @nicolafisher. Some form of taking stock and/or reassessing every so often is very worthwhile. If I spelled this out in a list, I think most of my items would be about how various things in my life have evolved. The one area where I've learned the most over the last 5+ years is about diet/nutrition.

From @MattHulmes, included on his list is writing about money and doomer optimism. I've been blogging and mainstream writing about money since 2004 so that certainly appeals and I've explored doomer optimism quite a bit over the last year. On the DO front, I'm more interested in the self-sufficiency aspect of it and less so on the communal aspect.

From @grgluck. This forces you to figure what you can do without which is productive and intellectually appealing. A big must have, maybe the biggest for me is owning my own time, that to me is freedom.

The challenge going around about guests to a dinner party? I'd have several different ones. I only knew one of my grandparents so sitting down with all four when they were in their 40's or 50's and had maybe figured some things out would be interesting. I'd also be interested in dinner with a handful of stoics, then several players from the Negro Leagues and founders of the United States.

An unintentionally funny list from @lovingkindnesscomedy. It's funny because there are some topics that I am a total sucker for. I'm not the only one! Usually this is related to my day job but there are a few others.

That challenge resonates and is very relevant to what NotePD is all about IMO. I don't remember who said this but something along the lines that when you write, you live forever. Kind of true, think about some of the people we might quote who lived centuries ago. I think another way to make a mark is to help your community.

Useful from @DonnKing. Number 9 on his list is about majors. When I was in school, someone said to me, there are only three majors; accounting, engineering and everything else. That was good input for me. It might expand now to tech related majors, is that still called computer science?
