Anger diffusion
1. You will be dead someday
Is it really worth feeling upset over this?
2. Anger is more about your own weaknesses
If someone makes you mad, YOU were complicit in allowing yourself to feel that feeling.
3. Anger passes
4. Exercise
Work out, use that adrenaline in a positive way.
5. Meditate
Sit with the feeling. Determine underlying thoughts. Be in the moment. Is it really this bad?
6. Dwelling in anger isn't healthy
Angry people often have shorter lives.
7. The root cause of anger is fear.
The underlying feeling of anger is fear. What are you afraid of?
8. Anger is protection
9. Step away (if feasible)
Being in the vicinity of a trigger can feed the anger. Go for a walk. Read a positive quote. Read the Daily Stoic. Reset yourself.
10. Angry actions can lead to regret
Feeling the anger and allowing yourself to indulge it will rarely lead to positive outcomes. Don't add to the anger by doing something you can't take back.
