Animal weekend

1. Sheep Open Day

We attended the open day for Millennium Bleu sheep. There were rams, one year olds, plus ewes and lambs in the fields. 

2. Belgian Blue

The farmer also breeds Belgian Blues and one, Rita Ora, was quite big. About 750 kg. She is going to a show next week. There was a two week old calf, two older calves plus a handful of other breeds. And three bulls. 

3. Guess the weight

I had a go at guess the weight but I was well out. The ram looked solid but I thought it might be all wool. It wasn't. 

4. Judge the rams

You also had to place four sheep in prize order! I had no idea what I was looking for so just guessed. 

5. Views

Our friend, Phil, who had invited us, drove up to the top of the fields. Amazing views.
