Benefits of Being Awake Early On A Day Off
Sort of a gratitude list here. Not pleased about my wiring having me awake at 5am, with a net sleep less than five hours, but there are a few up sides.

1. Get an early shower, with a lot of hot water
Boiled the sore muscles.
2. Quiet house / quiet time
Puppy is sleeping in his crate in the kid's room.
3. Birds chirping as the sun starts coming up
Always good to hear.
4. Reading time
Catch-up with a book I'm reading. Check the usual online news and sports sources.
5. Kitten in the window
He's looking for the birds he can hear, but not yet see well since the sun is just coming up.
6. Can try to nap if I want to
The "house" doesn't wake up at least until 8am or 9am, if the puppy doesn't hear me. He's upstairs, in the kid's room with the a/c on, so chances are good he won't hear me.
7. Don't need to do chores, yet
Can't do things that make noise (vacuuming, etc.) since everyone is sleeping.
8. Lengthens the "Day Off"
No football game, no work, and the planned church 'event' (helping the pastor move) was postponed due to the anticipated rain storm today. Of course, the nap this afternoon will cut into that additional time, but its a net positive.
9. Dunkin run?
May run out to get donuts for the family. My choice would be the apple fritter. We'll see...
10. Getting today's list done early.
Done for today, and will inevitably come up with a list or two to do later today.a
