1. Pigeons crossing the road (photo)
I wish I could have captured the picture and copied it here. The pigeons reminded me of the time when I was an undergraduate and a pigeon dropped a load on my head, just as I was boarding a train for home.
2. Sawed logs (photo)
Nicely stacked logs in piles, appears to be from trees that were just cut down. This makes me think of IKEA furniture in a very, very, very, early stage.
3. identify all the things "you've always done" and challenge each one
This strikes me as a great topic for a book. Not that I am into the memoir thing, but it is interesting to reflect on educational practice. I finished work today, with a wonderful sendoff. Perfect time for a memoir.
4. don't be afraid to dream large
This has to be my one message to my grandchildren, when they are old enough to understand.
5. feels smart about?
Boy could I tell a story here about a colleague who has to play one-upmanship in a group, but when you get him alone, he is far more secure.
