Challenge Yourself
Yesterday I took a hike in search of Slickrock Canyon in Big Bend National Park that few have seen. There is no trail or much written about it. No cell service. Just you and the desert, birds, sun, ROCKS ... so many rocks ... and who knows what lurks behind every turn. I found the canyon and it was AMAZING! It got me thinking, what will be my next big challenge?

1. Take a multiple day river trip on the Rio Grande: I'm not a camper. My idea of camping is Four Seasons and a credit card. River guide friend wants to take me out 5 nights, I'm thinking 2. ;)

2. Take a large position on a trade this year: I've never really had the confidence to "go big or go home". I tend to risk less to make more. I tend to take profits too soon.

3. Write a book: I have a story ... many really. Have lead an interesting life and have a lot of material. My Dad used to encourage me to do so. Now that I'm retired, time is no longer an excuse.

4. Fall in love: ...again. I've had great loves, but I have been defensive over the last decade. Protecting my heart I guess. Not getting any younger and might be a good time to take that risk.

5. Throw a dinner party: I used to be the ultimate entertainer. Lost the drive somewhere in the last 15 years. Reasons another story. Have new china/crystal/linen to show off. Let's go. New idea list: Menus!

6. Take my bike out and get on the Northeast Texas Trail: Something I've been wanting to do since pre-Covid days. Got my bike in shape last week and need to get out there before it's too hot!

7. Work on my lean body mass: Got really more than 5 years ago, but time and bad habits have changed my BMI. Challenging to count macros, and pick up the weights more times a week. Just Do It!

8. Travel to a country I've never been to before: I'm thinking Montenegro. Wish Putin and Covid would settle down.

9. Cultivate a garden on my patio: I haven't had a space in a while to grow things. I have a small patio now and want to see if I can grow a few things. Challenged with lack of direct sunlight, but then that's the challenge, RIGHT?
undefined
10. Get back to my yoga practice: I was so passionate about this for 15 years. Had 5 hours teacher training and a strong practice until Covid. Not an excuse, BUT I didn't thrive in a Zoom world. Need human contact.
