Confident Tips

A friend was asking for advice on how to become more confident. So, I thought i'd write a list and share with everyone.

    1. Do Your Best (Part 1)

I use to think that as long as I was doing better that others, that was enough. Despite being stronger, smarter, better looking and lets not forget humble, I wasn't happy. I knew i wasn't doing my best and I think that most people could see that. Because i didn't fully respect myself, no one else did. If i wanted that respect I had to become someone I could respect. And that ment pushing myself.

A good example is my drinking ability. Not drinking much use to mean less than my friends, 10 beers that night was pretty good. Over time it went down to 5 drinks a night. Which I thought was great, but compared to the rest of the world that's alcoholic levels. The same goes for every good aspect in life, don't settle for being better than your local community, or even the world, keep pushing yourself till your the best your body will allow.

Doing your best is about more than being No.1. It's about being the best you can possible can be. You'll never know what your truly capable of unless you push yourself beyond your limits. It's here where self respect, freedom and confidence hides.

If you're not happy, despite being in a position where you 'should be happy' it's probably due to this.

    2. Do Your Best (Part 2)

A being that does everything perfect is labeled a God. Chances are you aren't one. So why are you still punishing yourself for not acting perfectly in every situation?

The closest you can possibly get is doing your best, with your current knowledge, now. Due to the fact your not a God, your knowledge will be limited. Extremely limited. Out of all the knowledge that could possibly be known you'd be lucky to touch 0.001%. As a result you're going to make a lot of mistakes. Thinks could always have been better.

But that's what's great about ding your best. No one expects perfection. If they do, point out that only Gods are perfect. Do they believe you're a god?

If you can do your best you can walk away from every situation happy, knowing there was no more you could have possibly done at the time. With your knew knowledge things could be different (if you could also travel back in time and make those changes of course, but unless I'm mistaken, you can't. So don't stress about not being able to do the impossible),

    3. Grow

I was going to title this learn, but it's more than that. We need to grow in all aspects of life.

Read, listen to podcasts, watch educational videos. Try and learn one thing very day. And take note of that. I use google Keep on my phone.

Exercise and get healthier. Grow those muscles.

Talk to strangers. Grow your friend group.

Work harder and grow your savings.

It's a lot easier to be confident when your not hungry and homeless. The more you have, the more confident you'll be.

    4. Do The Impossible!

I don't mean meditate until your able to fly. I'm talking about setting goals that are possible, but are highly unlikely.

For example I was really bad at English (Ha! you still are! Really though there's a good chance I had/have dyslexia.), but with practice I ended up teach it, winning a nationwide award for it, training others to teach it. I've wrote books. I've been off my Epilepsy tablets for almost a decade, with only to seizures in that time. Despite not really reading a book until my late 20's I've now read hundreds.

What are the limits being placed on you? Push past them and do the impossible. Once you prove to yourself it's possible you'll start to see the code to the matrix and soon see that anything is possible with the right focus. You'll gain a new faith in yourself, once you know you can acomplish anything you set your heart and mind too.

    5. Quotes/

Save quotes. Quotes are polished thoughts. All the fluff has been removed. Only the gold remans. The more you read and save quotes, the better your own thinking will get. You'll soon shorten that 30 minutes of overthinking into a few minutes or even seconds.

    6. Business Writing

Following on from quotes, learn business writing. Edit your essays to remove fluff. Writing reflects your thoughts. Simplify your writing and your thoughts will soon follow.

    7. Help (Part 1)

Help others. Share your knowledge/skills with as many people as you can. Show kindness to others. Do your part to make the world a better place.

Helps great, but don't make yourself sick in the process. You come first. Your health, time, energy and money. Only once your at your best should you help others. Airplane safety states that you should only help others with their mask, after your safe. It's the same in all aspects of life. It might sound selfish and that's because it is, but that's not a bad thing. It's reality. Stop living in the dream world were your able to help everyone and still thrive yourself, you can't, not in that order anyway. Thrive then help all you can. Far more effective.

    8. Help (Part 2)

This was one of the hardest for me. Accept help. If you've followed the previous steps, people will really like and respect you and with that comes gratitude. They'll start to offer you help. Accept it. You've earned it. Don't expect to do everything on your own. If you thought you were great already, wait until you see what's capable with the help of others.
