Contemplating and Squeezing Meaning Out of a Quote
“To see things in the seed, that is genius.” ― Lao Tzu
I could not think of a better list. I will do better tomorrow :)
1. To see the essence
To see things as they are. To detach from ourselves and focus on what we see. No projections, no judgments, and no games.
2. To see the potential
To see things in the seed is to see its potential.
A seed has the potential to be a glorious Sequoia tree.
Albert Einstein had remarked, “Most people see what is and never what can be”
3. To see the simple in the complex
To see things in the seed is to recognize the complexity bias in us.
To choose the simple over the complex or simplify the complex for it to be understood.
“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Maybe by perfection, Antoine meant Genius!
4. To see continuity
5. To say profound things simply
Being impeccable with words, perhaps.
