Cooking
EZ dishes that even a non-cook like myself can make. Note these are dishes, not meals. All need to be filled out.
1. Noodles
Start with Ramen. Progress to sphaghetti or macaroni. Move on from there. These can be a base for a soup, side dish, stir fry, main dish, casseroles.
2. Eggs
Boil them, fry them, scramble them, make an omelette. Another base item that can became everything from a salad to an entree
3. Boiled dinner
This one can be a full meal. Potatoes, carrots, cabbage, kielbasa. All the ingredients go in a pot of boiling water and left until fully cooked. Different veggies and proteins cook at different rates so timing can be tricky. All vegetables and proteins can be swapped as desired.
4. Ground beef
Crumble it and brown it or make burgers. Either way you have a start. Combined with noodles or made into a chili or simple meat sauce are great ways to begin.
5. Grilled cheese
Once you have the basics thru trial & error, (don't forget to butter the outside of your bread), start experimenting with different amounts and types of cheese, tomatoes, ham, etc.
6. Pancakes
Easy to make and very filling. Yes, you'll burn the first few but you'll get the hang of it soon enough.
7. Rice
A staple the world over and can be combined in countless dishes. I admit I'm still trying to master rice
8. Spices, seasonings, sauces.
These will often make or break a dish. They can also completely transform a dish Learning these will move your cooking to the next level. Perhaps my greatest weakness in the kitchen but the quest for flavor continues.
