1. Adversity and difficulties are classroom experiences for undoing our belief in separation from God.
Adversity should not be denied or seen as bad, but rather as an opportunity to learn and choose again. Love gently reminds us in every difficulty to "choose again" and see it differently.
Our distress, perplexity, or any problem is a form we have chosen to learn what we need to learn - that the separated self is not real, and our true Self is one with God. We are using the adversity to prove the reality of separation.
Rather than fighting against the symptom or situation, we need to embrace it as a classroom the Inner Teacher can use to teach that it is all occurring in the mind because we want it there. Resisting or feeling guilty about it deprives our Inner Teacher of using it as a teaching tool.
Adversity provides an opportunity to look at it through the Holy Spirit's vision instead of the ego's perspective of sin, guilt and fear. It allows us to practice forgiveness and remember our true Identity.
With willingness and inspiration from the Holy Spirit, we will succeed in looking at adversity as a way to undo our belief in the separated self and awaken to our true reality as God's one Son.
We must reframe adversity not as something bad happening to us, but as a purposeful classroom carefully chosen by our mind to learn the lessons we need to awaken from the dream of separation.
