Emotions are like waves

Emotions moving in shallow minds move more slowly than emotions moving in the deeper water.

'Feelings are much like waves, we can't stop them from coming, but we can choose which one to surf' -- Jonatan Mårtensson.

    1. Emotions, like waves, have a beginning, middle, and end.

The purpose of that wave is to try to create an urge to act.

Emotions are an invitation to act.

First, the emotion and urge intensify. Then, the urge slowly reduces.

We are so inclined to act when emotions are intense rather than allowing them to reduce to nothingness.

    2. Emotions are data, not directives.

You don't have to catch the wave.

Just because I feel anger doesn't mean I have to do something with it.

An emotion is just feedback. Something happens in time and space and I choose to react to it. A reaction by me isn't required.

Emotions don't come with any instructions. They don't say to me, "You must act this way or that way."

They don't tell me to scream, yell, attack, or find fault with another.

They don't instruct me to feel happy or sad.

They don't instruct me what waves to catch.

I must decide what waves to catch.

I'm the one who must decide to craft an angry email and press send.

I'm the one who must decide to pick up the phone or drive to your place of employment to attack you. And it can go from zero to a hundred in a millisecond

I'm the one who decides to rant or be involved in the drama because I feel something.

I'm the one who's allowing a feeling, an emotion to control me - not you.

    3. Waves are also common representations of emotions. They're either calm and serene or turbulent and out of control.

Anytime I feel out of control it's always rooted in fear.

Anytime I feel at peace it's always rooted in love.

Emotions are energy and sensations moving in silence. Unless they're given life by you they will dissipate.

    4. Unconscious parents raise unconscious children.

The fruit never falls far from the tree.

To break the cycle only one person needs to awaken.

There's no need to rebuke a generational curse of our own making.

If there's a curse it's a lack of awareness of who you are.

If there's a curse it could only be the unwillingness to do the internal work.

    5. How to ride the wave of your emotions.

    Awareness. Just notice, no judgment.

Experience it fully. No need to try and push it down. The emotion has arisen to be healed not browbeaten.

Emotions are feelings, nothing more or less.

    6. Are your emotions dense or loosely packed?

Stones, marbles, and coins sink when placed in water.

Most people are walking around "jam-packed" with grievances and low vibrations of emotions. This results in your feeling sad, hopeless, and unworthy.

Rubber balls, plastic bottles, and balloons float because they are less dense.

Have you ever been in the presence of someone whose Light is strong? Don't you feel better about yourself? Don't you feel happier? Don't you smile more?

You feel happier because you've chosen not to be a bag lady. "Bag lady you goin' hurt your back draggin' all of those bags like that..... When they see you comin' they take off running" Erykah Badu.

Each of us has a choice to be buoyant and float through life or be burdened and sink to the bottom where misery, pain, and despair live.

Now you know a lot about love (floating) and fear (sinking).

    7. What is a wave swash?

When a wave reaches the shore, the water that rushes up the beach is known as the swash. The water that flows back towards the sea is known as the backwash.

We are the ones who create the world we live in.

What we give increases our store.

What we give to others comes back to us in greater abundance.

The energy of the swash and backwash determine the type of wave.
