Foods you shouldn't make at home

Meaning, it's better to just go to a restaurant.

Otherwise, I find making your own food at home is just as good, or better, than going to a store. I also hate when a restaurant brings everyone's food out all at once. I get that it's polite, but food tastes better when it's ready to be eaten.

    1. Sushi

Yes, sushi is expensive. No, I do not have the patience or skill to make this at home. This is the one meal where I am never upset about the price of the bill. It's part art, part food.

    2. Really Good Pizza

I've made my own before. And have made keto-style pizza that was surprisingly good. A good pizza place is just worth whatever they are charging.

    3. Really good queso dip

Not talking about average here. The best you've had. The price/time/quality equation isn't won in your own kitchen. If I want average to good queso, it's better at home.

    4. High End Steak

Maybe I'm stupid. Obviously, I'm not that great of a cook. If I want a great steak, I'd rather pay for it at a restaurant. Don't trust that I could cook it properly. Average to good quality meats I think are better at home. Don't feel as much pressure.

    5. Jersey Mike's Style Sandwhich

I don't eat these often, but I love their sandwiches. You might have a local place that's similar. I think you can make certain hot sandwiches at your house that are just as good elsewhere, but not a cold-cut or even the type they have. Just my opinion. Also, since I only eat this every few months, it's just easier to go to the store.

    6. Milkshake

For 4-7 bucks, I'd rather just get this made elsewhere. You wouldn't want to make too much and can you make it as good?

    7. Smoothie

Similar to the above, I've never made one at home that was that great. Maybe bc I don't add enough sugar or stevia or whatever. For the price and how often I buy this, better to get elsewhere.

    8. Chinese Food

Unless you've been properly trained or it's a family dish.

    9. Indian Food

    See #8.

    10. Chipotle style bowl/burrito (Before inflation)

When these were like $7 bucks. It was hard to fathom making that level of meal, in that quantity, at home. Now the price has doubled and it's an avoid, for me.
