Funding Help
1. First, what ever you do, be clear in all printed and online materials you are not non-profit and thus -not- tax deductible. Keeps you out of trouble with the tax man.
2. Or… set up a tax deductible non-profit. Folks are much more willing to donate to a NP, even if they don't take a tax deduction for their donation - more credibility. Takes a bit of work, but not impossible.
3. The business can then rent the space to the non-profit for a fair market (or just below) rate.
4. Rent your space out to businesses for training and special events, community organizations – community bands, etc.
5. Put together a series of “Learn Abouts” for kids
Bring in musicians, dancers, actors who can give kids a chance to learn about music, dance, acting. If there are area businesses teaching any of these, pitch it to them as a marketing tool (for a reasonable fee). Ask the parents for a small donation.
