    1. What We Let In, What We Shut Out.

Think of every choice as adding or removing bricks from a wall that shapes who we are. Accepting something is like letting a plant grow in your garden. But choosing what we accept isn’t just about what we welcome in; it’s also about what we fence out.
Imagine you’ve got a garden with a fence. If you plant truth in there, you’re also pulling out the weeds of fear and illusion. When I say, “The world’s just an illusion,” it’s like planting a seed for freedom. I’m letting that grow, and at the same time, I’m saying, “Nope, there’s no room for fear or scarcity here.”
Some folks say they “accept” things without much thought, like letting any kind of plant grow wild. But if you don’t actively choose, you end up with a garden full of weeds—whatever sneaks in. True acceptance takes conscious choice. It’s like choosing to plant flowers that lift you up and refusing the weeds. If I say I believe in a God of love, I’m also saying there’s no place for a punishing God here. What I keep and what I keep out both reveal the values I’m watering.
Boundaries aren’t there to trap us but to keep us grounded. They’re like guardrails on a road—they stop us from wandering into dangerous territory. They don’t keep us from living; they guide us toward what’s real. So, when I accept what’s true, I’m putting up a guardrail against what’s false. Those boundaries show me the path home.
So, what’s growing in your garden? And which weeds are you keeping out?
