How to Fight Isolation

I work from home. I live alone (When my son's not with me.). These are things I can do to fight the feeling of isolation. Too much is online. Too much is impersonal. It's time to expand my social network.

    1. Call Or Text One Friend a Day

    You can call more. This is a baseline.

    2. Don't Let Social Media Substitute For Social Life

    It's easy to feel valued or important on social media. Don't value people you haven't met or actually interacted with over the people you have.

    3. Go Places and Do Things

    Restaurants, sporting events, concerts, shows...all over staying in.

    4. Strike Up Random Conversations

    Talk with someone new. Start conversations with neighbors, or people you see out.

    5. Work From the Coffee Shop

    6. Go To The Gym

    I have some home equipment. I don't HAVE to work out from home.

    7. Take More Walks

    It's good for not feeling like I'm in confinement.

    8. Join a Group

    Find a group around health, writing, cooking, or some other hobby or skill I want to improve.

    9. Develop Hobbies that Can't Be Done Alone

    10. Do Things With Friends
