How to Help Turkey
Hello friends. At this point, most of you must know about the earthquakes that hit Turkey. To summarize, we had an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 and a center length of 100 km, which triggered another earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6. We had around a hundred aftershocks, and they were mostly above 6 too. 10 cities got hit, and a population of around 20 million is affected.
There are many countries that are sending help for rescue efforts, but the local public cannot return to their homes, and in the midst of winter, they risk hypothermia. The NGO my wife is working for has been providing relief to those who are suffering in multiple cities, and they are accepting donations from individuals as well.
Here's the NGO's vice president talking about what happened in Turkey:
1. You can donate through the link below
2. You can spread the news
You can share the link with other people, but you can just inform them that Turkey is going through a dire catastrophe that affects a huge area. The media coverage doesn't do justice to how the situation is going on the ground. Because of weather conditions and the destruction of roads and infrastructure, most of the population cannot be reached. We are trying to alleviate the harm by helping through local actors.
3. You can join the effort if you are an emergency personnel
Many countries are sending emergency personnel to help the situation within Turkey. Talk to your own government about joining the effort.
Thank you so much.
