How WFH Is Different Than Being In The Office
Boss said to WFH after yesterday's golf outing (was really sore and tweaked my knee a bit). Who am I to say no?
How is WFH difference than being in the office, at least today.
1. Red light heating pad
Needs to be on the skin to work best... can't expose skin at the office.
2. Working in jammies
In reality, shorts and a tee-shirt, but the comfort factor is there.
3. Less Interruptions
Only one call from the office, so I am focusing on getting things done and not putting out other people's fires.
4. Dog Is Happy
"Daddy's home... and letting me out when I want." - He doesn't abuse the privilege.
5. Window Open
Can't open windows at office, but can and do at home. Even at 6am when it was 39 degrees. Yeah, not all the way, but fresh air. And get direct sunlight!!!
6. Better Thinking
A bit of a brain drizzle (not quite a storm) got me to realize we needed a checklist for a few tasks that need done with our payroll app. May or may not have done anything about it in the office, if it occurred to me at all. Took some time, put my thoughts together, and got it to others for input.
7. Brain Let The Body Rest
After two crappy nights of sleep (8 hours total - power out Tues PM through Wednesday late PM, and the furnace flooding the basement Wednesday night), got a bit over six hours today. Knowing I didn't need to get to the office, my mind let me rest.
8. Self-Talk And "Noises"
I can talk to myself out loud if needed, and don't have to be concerned if I need to... well, create noise that would be uncomfortable in the office.
9. Football Game Tonight
A longer ride today since work is closer, but I don't have to wait in the parking lot at work eating lunch so I don't get to the site too early. And can wear sweats instead of a shirt and chinos.
10. Nap...
Maybe. If I have a few minutes, will get a nap.
