I learned some cool astronomy facts this week :)
1. The tallest mountain in the solar system...
...might be the central mountain in the Rheasilvia crater on Vesta!
This mountain is between 20 and 25 kilometers tall!
In case you forgot, Vesta is an asteroid in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
However, with its 21.9 km, Olympus Mons on Mars is very close in height.
2. Most silver and gold come from...
...colliding neutron stars! I can't stop looking at the following chart from NASA Goddard showing the cosmic origin of the elements found on earth!
3. My favorite planet will always remain...
...Neptune. Just look how gorgeous Neptune is! And did you know it rains diamonds on Neptune?!
