1. Rediscovering the Power of Inspiration.
Let me ask you this: how many people wake up every morning truly in spirit? Think about it. Most people don’t start their day inspired, connected, and aligned with love. They wake up burdened by obligations—what they have to do, not what they want to do.
Obligation vs. Inspiration
When you’re living out of obligation, your actions come from fear, guilt, or societal expectations.
You stay in jobs you hate because you feel you have no choice.
You stay in relationships that drain you because you’re afraid to speak your truth.
You show up to spaces—workplaces, grocery stores, even family gatherings—with no sense of connection, just dragging yourself through the motions.
And what happens when people live this way? They project their frustration, their lack of inspiration, onto everyone around them. You’ve seen it. Go to the grocery store and observe the checkout line. People are tired, distracted, disconnected—having sidebar conversations, looking like life has drained the spirit right out of them.
What Does It Mean to Be In Spirit?
Now let’s flip the script. To be in spirit means to be aligned with love, joy, and truth. It’s living from inspiration, where every action feels purposeful and connected to something greater.
Inspiration comes from in spirit. It’s not about fleeting motivation or chasing external rewards. It’s about being so aligned with the flow of life that everything you do feels natural, fulfilling, and whole.
Being in spirit doesn’t mean every moment is perfect or easy. It means every moment is authentic. You’re not doing things because you have to—you’re doing them because they come from your heart, your truth, and your connection to love.
Fine Dining: A Metaphor for Inspiration
This is what I’ve always loved about fine dining. Think about the atmosphere of a fine dining restaurant:
The waiters, the chefs, the presentation—it’s all done with care, thoughtfulness, and inspiration.
The menu isn’t overwhelming. It’s curated, intentional, and every choice feels special.
The portions are restrained, the flavors balanced, and the experience complete.
It’s not about excess or debauchery. It’s about creating something meaningful and inspired. Even the prices feel like an afterthought because you’re not there for the cost—you’re there for the experience.
Fine dining is a reminder of what it looks like to live and work with inspiration. Every detail is thoughtful, purposeful, and full of presence. It’s a far cry from the rushed, disconnected energy we see in so many parts of life today.
Where Did We Lose Inspiration?
Where did we go wrong? Where did we lose the spark, the joy, the inspiration?
It happens when we start living out of fear instead of love.
Fear keeps people in jobs they hate.
Fear keeps people in relationships that no longer serve them.
Fear stops people from speaking their truth, addressing the white elephant in the room, or taking the leap toward what they truly desire.
When you live from fear, you lose connection with spirit. And when you lose connection with spirit, you lose inspiration. Life becomes a series of checkboxes—just getting through the day instead of living it fully.
The Cost of Obligation
Living out of obligation drains your soul. It makes you feel stuck, unfulfilled, and disconnected. And when you feel that way, it doesn’t just stay inside you—it spills out onto others.
You start projecting your dissatisfaction onto your partner, your coworkers, or strangers in the grocery store.
You start blaming the world for your unhappiness instead of looking within to see what’s really going on.
The truth is, when you’re not in spirit, you can’t see the world clearly. You’re stuck in a mindset of deprivation, believing that something outside of you needs to change for you to feel whole.
What Does Deprivation Really Mean?
Deprivation isn’t about not having enough. It’s about being disconnected from the truth of who you are. When you’re deprived of inspiration, you feel empty, no matter how much you have.
But here’s the thing: inspiration is always available to you. It’s not something you have to find—it’s something you have to allow.
To be in spirit, you have to let go of fear. You have to let go of obligation. You have to trust that love, joy, and truth are your natural state.
How Do You Return to Inspiration?
Be Present:
Stop rushing through life. Slow down and be fully present in what you’re doing, whether it’s preparing a meal, having a conversation, or just sitting quietly.
Speak Your Truth:
Stop hiding behind fear. If there’s something you need to say, say it. If there’s a change you need to make, make it. Truth is the doorway to inspiration.
Choose Love Over Fear:
Every moment offers a choice. Are you acting out of love or fear? Out of obligation or inspiration? Choose love, and you’ll reconnect with spirit.
Living Inspired
This isn’t just about fine dining or grocery stores. This is about your life.
Are you living from inspiration, or are you going through the motions?
Are you aligned with spirit, or are you trapped in obligation?
Every moment is an opportunity to choose. And when you choose to live inspired—to be in spirit—you’ll find that everything changes. Life becomes fuller, richer, more complete. Not because of what you have, but because of how you’re living.
What say you? Are you picking up what I’m throwing down? Let’s wake up and return to inspiration.
