large package secure delivery system to deter porch bandits
H/T @chris407x
1. Use a pet/doggy door
Get the big one. With instructions for delivery of course
2. Doesn't at least one of the delivery services advertise giving the driver access to the garage door opener?
Not for me, but an option.
3. Theft deterrent chutes like on the charity drop-off boxes
Of course, if you put a drop off box on your porch, who knows what you might get.
4. Not have home delivery
How luddite of me.
5. Lift basket
Lower the spring loaded or counter-balanced basket when you are expecting a delivery. Driver places package in receptacle and trips the release. Up it goes. Out of reach and possibly out of sight.
6. Ratcheting Lazy Susan in place of bay window.
Rachet prevents it from being turned back around.
7. a large fake planter
Often, out of sight is as secure as an actual lock
8. Got an extra car in the driveway?
This one I've used but it takes some pre-planning with delivery. If the vehicle allows, leave the trunk, hatch, etc. closed, but not latched. Package gets placed inside and driver fully closes the trunk, locking it.
9. Door Camera plus Wi-Fi enabled locker.
When the camera system notifies you of package arrival, use the app to lock the locker.
10. Fake package with less lethal IED inside
Think PepperFoam, tar & feather, etc. Can be got at some security shops, and/or comedy shops.
