NotePd Round Up For November 1, 2022

    1. Shake hands?

Shaking hands seemed like it may have been on the way out due to Covid. I don't know but when you do shake hands, make sure you give a firm grip. You don't make a good impression with a dead fish of a hand shake.

    2. No dinner for a month

A "diet" that results in you feeling hungry all the time is much harder to maintain. From my experience, eating all the meat, eggs, fish and cheese you want while cutting carbohydrate consumption will lead to rapid weight loss if that is your goal. It's not a diet, it is a changing of habits. Odd of success are higher with that mindset. The reason this works is the body will not burn fat until sugar has been depleted. No carbs means no sugar in the way, low carbs means very little sugar in the way and then you burn fat. Try it for two weeks, just two weeks, and see where you are.

    3. Shrink your to do list

I don't have enough on this to make a full list for this challenge. I'd say do the quick stuff first but eventually you just gotta do the work.

    4. Seasonal depression challenge

We have relatively easy winters here in Northern Arizona. We can get a lot of snow, really a lot, but then the next day it can be sunny and 50 degrees. Winter is actually my favorite time of year here. The snow mutes sound in such a way that it is very peaceful. Any time you're feeling down or some other negative sentiment, vigorous exercise can help, like shoveling snow. My wife thinks I'm nuts but I enjoy shoveling around our house and then plowing down to where the county maintains the road. At the very least, vigorous exercise will not make it worse. 6. Side hustles

With the state of retirement preparedness being what it is. With the numbers about so few people being able to afford a $1000 emergency, cultivating side hustles is something we should all be doing,

    7. Lucky entrepreneurs

I see this challenge going around. I probably don't have enough for a list for this one either. One is be genuinely positive. Whether you call it the secret, manifesting or something else, I fully believe in it. Show that you are willing to do whatever you have to in order to make it work. People like to help people who are helping themselves.
