“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. (1 min 22 sec)
I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)
1. The peace Jesus offers is not the temporary, conditional peace of the world, but rather an eternal, unconditional peace that comes from God.
In ACIM, Jesus emphasizes that he meant this statement literally, saying "When I said, 'My peace I give unto you,' I meant it." He further explains that "Peace comes from God through me to you. It is for you although you may not ask for it."
This peace is our natural state, our inheritance as children of God. It's not something we need to earn but rather something we need to accept. Our troubled hearts stem from our belief in separation from God, which is an illusion.
When Jesus says "I do not give to you as the world gives," He's highlighting the difference between the ego's offerings (which are temporary and based on external conditions) and the Holy Spirit's gifts (which are eternal and based on our true Self).
The instruction "Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" Jesus is teaching us that fear is not real. Peace is always available to us when we choose to align with God's will instead of the ego's.
#thinkgod I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.
