People who inspire you
1. Management consultant Boris Grundl
As a student of sports science, he recklessly jumped off a cliff into the sea. He was badly injured and has been in a wheelchair ever since. He always gives me good food for thought.
Most importantly: Focus on what you have and what you can do!
2. Writers who just do their thing
For example, Cormac McCarthy, who apparently refused to practice a normal job all his life. Or Ray Bradbury, who sat down in a library to read instead of studying at a university.
3. The mechanical engineer who became an orthopaedist
Roland Liebscher-Bracht is probably the best orthopedist in Germany. By training, he is an engineer. He has long trained in various martial arts, learning techniques to move the body more effectively. Through self-study, he learned how to cure various types of pain and poor posture. He is not a doctor, but apparently many medical specialists attend his seminars.
4. That one blogger who sends out a daily newsletter
Walter Epp, a former lawyer who turned to blogging full time.
5. Artists who create a big body of work
Michelangelo, Picasso, Goethe etc.
6. Writers who succeed in creating living worlds
My favorite in this regard is science fiction author Ursula K. LeGuin.
She SHOWS what an anarchist society could actually look like. What happens when materialistic oriented people colonize other planets. What society would be like if people were hermaphrodites. And much more. Everything sensitively described.
