Priorities
I figured something out about myself today, or at least I articulated something differently than I have before.
1. Health
This has always been a top priority and in addition to doing what I need to in order to stay fit and healthy, I've invested time to learn more on this front.
2. Owning My Time
This is a huge priority and being healthy plays a role for not spending a lot of time at the Dr's office. To me, this means being self employed which has its challenges but I couldn't do it any other way.
3. Financial Independence
This doesn't have to mean being rich. Comfortable is good enough. If you make enough to pay the bills, cover emergencies and save some for the future with a little left over for some fun, then you're well on the way to financial independence. I believe the most accessible path to this outcome is living below your means.
4. The new one is...
I've long talked about simplicity. I try where I can to make things as simple as possible. I'm in the middle of a big day job project that involves a lot of phone calls and it was on one of the calls where the idea that simplicity is one of my priorities clicked.
