Productive tasks to do on public transport (phone only)
Here are some that I do and some I think might be good. Note: there are often sketchy people on public transit, so it's probably a good idea not to be on your phone all the time.
1. Practice not using your phone
I do this a lot. Notice how everyone else is on their phone on the bus/subway. Cal Newport says you might feel weird doing this, but it's actually everyone else who's weird for being constantly glued.
2. Listen to a podcast
Especially on a long commute.
3. Write drafts of emails/messages on your phone's notepad app
4. Work on photography
I don't do this one, but you could take pictures of things out the window. I had to do this for journalism school with a real camera once.
5. Idea lists
I could see this being done. Just use your notepad app.
7. Listen to a full music album
You've got the time.
8. Clean out your photo album
9. Clean out your files
Again, see above.
