Repurposing NotePD posts
I've been doing a lot on Substack lately.
Realized I have a crap load of potential material here.
So, I've been digging out my favorites and with ChatGPT's help, I’m building a simple system that turns my daily NotePD lists into consistent Substack posts and Notes without overthinking it.
It keeps my momentum high, lowers friction, and lets ideas compound instead of disappear.
This gives lists a second life.
P.S. - AI can help you with steps 1-6. And maybe the rest, some day!
- Full Substack essay
- Title Note + 4 stand-alone Notes
- Pure Notes day (3–5 short posts)
- Hook: one strong opening line
- Body: 2–6 tight sentences
- CTA: invite thought, reflection, or reply (not “subscribe” pressure)
- Morning: connection/community
- Midday: educational or thoughtful
- Evening: reflective or motivational
- Social preview description (<160 characters)
- Consistent tag set
1. Write Daily on NotePD
Create your usual list—ideas, observations, lessons, humor, questions.
2. Identify the Strongest Angle
Ask: What’s the most interesting theme or tension in this list? That becomes the anchor.
3. Decide the Format
4. Atomize the List
Break individual list items into stand-alone Notes.
No numbering. No heavy setup. Each should stand on its own.
5. Create a Title Note (Optional but Powerful)
A short framing idea that introduces the theme of the day.
Think of it as the headline energy.
6. Use the Hook–Body–CTA Structure (Lightly)
7. Post in Rhythm
Ideal cadence:
8. Keep Notes Imperfect
Aim for 10-minute drafts.
These are thoughts in motion, not polished essays.
9. Use Essays Strategically
When a theme has depth, expand it into a full post.
Add:
10. Engage After Posting
Reply to comments. Start conversations.
Growth comes from interaction, not just publishing.
11. Repeat Daily
The power is compounding visibility and clarity over time—not any single viral hit.
