Scratching Away at Illusions. (57 sec)

Preview

    1. The Ego's High-Stakes Game.

You’re watching her. She’s scratching away, eyes fixed on the ticket. “High Roller,” it says. Maybe this one will change everything, she thinks. Each flick of the coin holds hope, anticipation, a rush of possibility.
You say something, but she waves you off. “Hold on, let me finish.” The first ticket? A bust. No big deal, she’s already onto the next one, scratching faster, more desperately. Then, she shouts, “I won!” But did she, really? No mention of the prize. Probably just enough to keep her going, nothing worth cashing in.
Sound familiar? This is the ego’s playground. We keep scratching at life, hoping for that big break, the moment it all makes sense. But even when we “win,” the thrill fades, and we’re back chasing the next thing — the next ticket, the next distraction.
You can’t make an illusion real. Like the scratch-offs, life’s fleeting victories don’t change a thing. The odds are always against you because you’re betting on the wrong game. So, stop scratching and start waking up.
The only thing you’ll ever win in this game? Another round of the same old illusion.
