Strong afternoon on NotePD!
Some great content I saw today.
1. Ten things I enjoyed about the quarantine
A list by @Vlad. I mostly think quarantines imposed from the top down were a terrible idea. Anyone should be free to reduce the extent they interact with people if they believe it is warranted but the manner in which the government went about it might turn out to be catastrophic. We were lucky to feel no impact of the quarantines. We live on a little bit of acreage in a semi-rural setting so were able to get plenty of sunshine, hike and since my gym shut down I was able to get community donations of weights for the firehouse for me to work out. Closing gyms, inhibiting exercise seems insane to me.

2. 10 things I've had the longest
This is a challenge going around. I'd have to think about this a little but here's a fun one. I've had the same yellow nomex shirt for wildland fires since 2003 when I first joined the department. This pic from 2019. We only have 2-3 fires a year here, sometimes less which is maybe why it has lasted so long.

3. NotePD features Bill would like to see
@BillBergeman is a great follow if you don't already. He listed some ideas to improve NotePD. I'd add being able to see your history of commenting on other peoples' posts and being able to see who has given a like to a specific item on a list.

4. Anxiety
A list from @jjbitters. I'm lucky on this front, very lucky. I will invoke PD Mangan from Twitter and suggest sun (Vit D) steak (implication that you are reducing consumption of carbs and seed oils) and steel (lifting weights). This combo will relieve anxiety for some portion of the population, great or small I don't know, but even if it doesn't relieve your anxiety you will be better off. JJ talks about exercise but it didn't look like he hit on diet.
5. Wins in 2022
A challenge from one of my best NotePD buds, @easymoneyme. Walker Fire (the dept where I am chief) got a $250,000 grant toward the purchase of a brand new fire truck. Here's a pic I got last night, should be complete soon!

6. Places to visit
Another list from @BillBergeman. He included Moab, UT. We love Moab! Been quite a few times. Most people who go, know about Arches, Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point State Park but there's a ton of stuff to do down Potash Rd and then out east on 128 about 21 miles is Fisher Towers (pictured below) which is awesome.
